One thing that seems interesting about the Kelley protocol is that there are ten different types of diets, therefore making more allowances for individual differences than Gerson does.

Kate Gilday, Woodland Essence, 392 Tea Cup Street, Cold Brook, NY 13324
(315) 845-1515, woodland@richnet.com. Kate is an herbal and flower essence practitioner who uses both Western and Ayurvedic herbs and methods. She is also a NYS Certified Guide and therefore can tell you not only how to prepare your herbs but also where they grow and how to identify and harvest them. She has been working with cancer patients for thirty years. Good information, down to earth, well presented; she teaches at Jean’s Greens a couple of times a year. I find her herbalist’s perspective on the different families of vegetables unique and very helpful. Her remedies are interesting and fun and you will probably actually do them! She will either teach you how to prepare formulas or prepare them for you.
.Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center now has a website, mskcc/aboutherbs.com.
If your oncologist is telling you not to use herbs because s/he doesn’t know anything about them, refer her/him to this website. It is pretty mainstream and may err on the side of caution, but at least it’s out there. If your oncologist is looking for research, they have it. MSKCC also offers seminars for acupuncturists on collaboration with oncologists using chemotherapy and radiation.

Supplements:Standard Process, 1200 West Royal Lee Drive, Palmyra, Wisconsin 53156,
www.standardprocess.com, customer service 800-558-8740, home office 800-848-5061. Available through healthcare professionals. Most of their ingredients, with the exception of those of animal origin, are grown on their organic farm. Supplements are derived from whole foods. One of the oldest supplement companies in existence and still one of the most reputable. Founded by Dr. Royal Lee, a dentist, who found that many of his patients’ problems stemmed from malnutrition and did much important research that was years ahead of its time. Dr. Lee was therefore vilified by the medical establishment, and the federal government ordered much of his research burned.
. I have done well with their products in conjunction with the Health Equations evaluation.

Bodywork/MassageMaya Abdominal Massage. For a practitioner in your area, or for self-care classes and information on certification in this modality, www.arvigomassage.com. Dr. Rosita Arvigo, a naprapath, studied in Belize for ten years with Mayan shaman Don Elijio Panti. So this protocol blends naprapathy, which is similar to chiropractic in its focus on the importance of the spine as a modulator of the nervous system and therefore of organ function, and the Mayan traditional style of bodywork and herbalism. Dr. Arvigo’s lists of symptoms and causes of uterine malpositioning are an eye-opener—anyone with uterine fibroids, uterine, ovarian or breast cancers, painful or heavy periods, or any gynecological issues should investigate this material. I find it confirms my hypothesis that there is a connection between uterine distress and diaphragmatic malfunctioning and hiatal hernia. Dr. Arvigo’s self-care protocol has been very useful to me in moderating the bleeds.
Four levels of coursework are offered: the Self-Care level is open to anyone.
The Professional, Certification, and Certified Teacher courses are open to licensed practitioners who have taken the Self-Care course and the level below.
